Nail Wheel Swatch-fest!

I've lately become a little obsessed with nail polish. I want it all: creams, glitter, matte, texture, holo, frost, you name it. So, I went a little bonkers and filled a nail wheel with some of my current favorites and a few comparisons.

Geek Chic Cosmetics Malefic
Layla Holographic Mermaid Spell

China Glaze Sci-Fly By

I really like the two holo nail shots. You can really see the difference between the two of them. The China Glaze has a much more subtle holo than the Layla, though both are nice and I'm glad to have them both in my collection, must own all the holo.

Sally Hansen Showtime

The Sally Hansen was a gem I found in my stash before I found/was able to buy any other holos. It's less linear and more of a scattered holo, but it does have a bit of linear holo to it. I love it, either way.

OPI Witch is Which

Another holo, this one not linear or scattered really. I love the little holo particles, larger hexes, and holo bar glitter.

Close up of the China Glaze Textures

My textured polishes. Two OPI, three China Glaze, and one Zoya

Another thing I'm digging is the textured polish craze. I did a blog post about it a few weeks ago, but decided to swatch all my textures. The blue and purple on the left are OPI shades from the Miriah Carey collection. The pink, green, and orange are from the new China Glaze Texture line, and the black on the right is a Zoya Pixie Dust, Dahlia to be exact.

A good side by side of some holos

Lastly, I have a side by side of my holos. As you can see, the China Glazes on the right are much less noticeable. These shots were taken in full sun with no top coat.

I hope you've enjoyed some of my current favorites. Any you wish you had? Any I need to keep my eye out for?

Day 18

I promised two blog posts today and here is my second. I have done my nails twice today because after I did them the first time I realized I own no blue nail polish after going through and getting rid of a lot of my old stuff. I made a run to Sally Beauty Supply (which recently opened one five minutes from my house) and picked up three new polishes and a stamping kit. I only used two of them for today's mani, but I got Flying Dragon, Blue Sparrow, and Optical Illusion.

Day 14

I'm a little late posting this due to a sick kiddo and a batchelorette party, but I did take the pictures last night.

I've been rereading The Hunger Games and wanted to do District 11 & 12 nails so I busted out my China Glaze

Day 7

I just now remembered that I needed to blog for today.... It's a little late, even though I took pictures HOURS ago. I had to cook dinner and then I decided to rent Skyrim, so you can understand why I'm late with this. lol

Anyway, I painted my nails last night for today's post. I super love them and may keep them around for a few days.

They are the purple magnetic polish from China Glaze (can't think of the name right now) and Fois Gras from the China Glaze Capitol Colors collection. This was my first time using Fois Gras and I like it more than I thought I would. I'll be honest, I only bought it and Dress Me Up because they were the last two from the collection I didn't have. I'm a bit of a completionist when it comes to things. I like to have every season of a TV show, every movie in a series, and apparently every polish in a collection.

Hope you like this mani, that's all you're getting today as I spent most of my day mowing my yard (we sit on almost an acre.... that's a lot to push mow.)

Day 4

I totally meant to put makeup on today, I really did. I lacked the motivation to do so after the kids spent all day fighting. I did manage to repaint my nails. I must say that the China Glaze prismatic glitters are a bitch to get off, but they are really pretty. Anyway, since I failed at makeup today, this post is going to be another nail post.

This is two coats of China Glaze's Dress Me Up (from the Capitol Colors collection) with an accent nail of China Glaze's Smoke and Ashes (also Capitol Colors) with a coat of Milani Gems, a coat of Stila Confetti, and a coat of China Glaze Techno (from the Electropop collection) Over all nails there is a coat of Seche Vite (the glitter nails have an extra coat to help smooth them down a little.)

Day 2

I didn't get a chance to get a picture of my makeup before we left for the zoo and sweated it all off, so I'm going to go with something different.

This beauty is China Glaze's Luxe and Lush from the Capitol Colours collection. I love this and use it in conjunction with just about everything. It's a super awesome flakie polish. I promise tomorrow I will have a look and it will be fun. :)
