It's Electric, oooh, it's Electric

Sorry, I can't use my Urban Decay Electric palette without the Metallica cover of "It's Electric" running through my head. Anyway, I used the Electric again today, but I paired it with a few Sugarpill shades. I can't tell you all how much I love this palette. I think I've used at least one shade from it every time I've done my makeup since it came in the mail.

Eyes: Savage, Slowburn, and Jilted from Urban Decay, @#$%! and Buttercupcake from Sugarpill
Cheeks: Cosmo Canyon from Geek Chic Cosmetics
Lips: Rhythm Box from Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics

Urban Decay Electric Palette

I'm sure, by now, you've all heard the hype over Urban Decay's latest palette, the Electric one. I know they used to be well known for their bright, edgy eyeshadows. Hell, I had a dozen back in high school. While I love my Naked 3 and Basics, I am glad to see them come out with some "in your face" shades. I will note that four of the shades in Electric are not intended for use in the immediate eye area, I believe this only applies to the US, but I'm not 100% sure. Either way, if you choose to use Slowburn, Savage, Jilted, or Urban on your eyes, you are doing so at your own risk. If you have sensitive eyes, I would avoid using these shades around the eyes. I don't have any issues, so I used them around my eyes. I'm a rebel like that. ;)

Yesterday I used Thrash, Freak, Fringe, Gonzo, Chaos on my lid. Blending out I used Jilted and a little bit of Urban and Savage. On my lips I'm wearing Naked gloss in Naked. Blush is Geek Chic Cosmetics Mistress of the Dark.

Today I used Savage, Jilted, and Urban on my lid. Blended out with Gonzo, Chaos, Freak, and Thrash. For my waterline, I used Perversion 24/7 liner and Crave from the Naked Basics. Again, I'm wearing Naked gloss in Naked on my lips. Cheeks are Geek Chic Cosmetics Cosmo Canyon blush. Lego lightsaber earrings came from Comic Con, I can't remember the vendor's name.

I'm on a roll here!

What's this?! Two posts in about a week?! What is this madness? Today, I'm sharing a look I did for work using Geek Chic Cosmetics.  The shades I used are from the Supernatural inspired collection called Superneutrals. As it sounds, the collection is full of neutral shades that pack a bit of a punch. For this look I used Morningstar, The Trickster, Born Under a Bad Sign, Most Loyal (discontinued) Angel of Thursday, King of Hell, and Rock Salt to hilite. On my cheeks, I used Maybelline Glaze blush stick in Make a Mauve. On my lips is Mac Cosmetics RiRi Woo.

Nail Wheel Swatch-fest!

I've lately become a little obsessed with nail polish. I want it all: creams, glitter, matte, texture, holo, frost, you name it. So, I went a little bonkers and filled a nail wheel with some of my current favorites and a few comparisons.

Geek Chic Cosmetics Malefic
Layla Holographic Mermaid Spell

China Glaze Sci-Fly By

I really like the two holo nail shots. You can really see the difference between the two of them. The China Glaze has a much more subtle holo than the Layla, though both are nice and I'm glad to have them both in my collection, must own all the holo.

Sally Hansen Showtime

The Sally Hansen was a gem I found in my stash before I found/was able to buy any other holos. It's less linear and more of a scattered holo, but it does have a bit of linear holo to it. I love it, either way.

OPI Witch is Which

Another holo, this one not linear or scattered really. I love the little holo particles, larger hexes, and holo bar glitter.

Close up of the China Glaze Textures

My textured polishes. Two OPI, three China Glaze, and one Zoya

Another thing I'm digging is the textured polish craze. I did a blog post about it a few weeks ago, but decided to swatch all my textures. The blue and purple on the left are OPI shades from the Miriah Carey collection. The pink, green, and orange are from the new China Glaze Texture line, and the black on the right is a Zoya Pixie Dust, Dahlia to be exact.

A good side by side of some holos

Lastly, I have a side by side of my holos. As you can see, the China Glazes on the right are much less noticeable. These shots were taken in full sun with no top coat.

I hope you've enjoyed some of my current favorites. Any you wish you had? Any I need to keep my eye out for?

Star Sprinkles!

I wanted to do a little write up about a magical polish I bought about a month and a half ago. I love to buy indie whenever possible and this little gem comes from Geek Chic Cosmetics and it's called Star Sprinkles. Inspired by Rainbow Brite (one of my favorite cartoons from my childhood). Star Sprinkles is full of multi colored glitter, blue stars, and silver shimmer. Since it's a top coat and not one to be worn alone, I used Essie's First Timer as undies with an accent nail of Essie In the Cab-ana with a light coat of Layla's Mermaid Spell on top. Top coat is Seche Vite and base coat is Orly Ridgefiller.

What do you all think of the new way I did the pictures? I think I like it and will be doing more like this. I got some plexiglass from work, so that helps. :)
